Chevon Powell (she/her) is the founder of Golden Bricks Events (GBE). In 2018 GBE repositioned to focus on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the outdoors through consulting, event management, and ownership of signature events such as the Refuge Outdoor Festival—an annual outdoor recreation camping experience geared toward Black, Indigenous, People of Color. Powell is an experienced event pro and social entrepreneur whose goal is to create ventures for social change. GBE has undertaken the challenge of getting 10k people of color outdoors by 2022. She is a native Texan, hiker, backpacker, camping enthusiast, and napper.

Florence “Flo” Sum (they/she) was raised by Chinese immigrants from Guangzhou and Hong Kong. Born and settled on Duwamish ancestral lands. Florence’s passion for youth-led movements, abolitionist education, and transformative justice have brought them closer to a vision for the world they are working towards. Florence graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in American Ethnic Studies and Communications, and an MA in Public Administration with a focus on nonprofit management and education policy. Outside of their work and contributions, they love to hike, play video games, gaze at water, and practice martial arts.
